Dr. Maria Elizabeth (Lizette) Lourens founded 'Age Management Institute', previously known as MD Aesthetics.

Dr. Lourens graduated from Medical School in South Africa, obtaining a diploma in Anesthesia (DA) from the College of Anesthesiologists of South Africa.  In 1992, Dr. Lourens obtained her Canadian qualifications followed by a certification in Family Medicine becoming a member of the College of Family Physicians.

For the last 13 years, Dr. Lourens has been practicing in Canmore, Alberta. 

Dr. Lourens interest in integrative medicine stems from her experience of years in the fields of emergency medicine and family practice.  She has learned that optimal health goes beyond just treating a symptom and as a result, she has become passionate applying Bioidentical Hormone Replacement and nutrition to restore balance.

Her general philosophy is that conventional medicine and prescriptions have a lot to offer patients but when anti-aging and regenerative medicine are added, it becomes a speciality in its own right.

Dr. Lourens has become a Member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and is Board Certified Physician with the American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine.  She is a fellow of the American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine (FAARM).

Dr. Lourens is trained in advanced injection techniques for Juvederm, Radiesse, Botox and Sephyl.  She has also been trained in the Advanced Skin Analysis by Florence Barrett-Hill.

CONNIE ARMSTRONG - MEDICAL AESTHETICIAN/CLINIC MANAGER

Connie is a specialist in Environ Facials and has also trained other therapists in the Environ technique. She has been trained under the Pastiche method of skin analysis and cosmetic chemistry.  She upgrades continually in order to stay in touch with the most complete and up to date knowledge of skin care and research.

JEANETTE QUEEN  B.Sc., RN

Jeanette is a Nurse Practitioner and a Diplomat of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine.  She also obtained a Fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine.  Jeanette practices with Dr. Lourens in performing assessments and formulates personalized health plans for each patient on an individual basis.  In addition to the assessment and formulation of treatments, Jeanette also provides patient education on Bioidentical Hormones, nutrition, nutritional supplements and healthy living choices.  As a Nurse Practitioner she forms an integral part of our team.
